Nouvel hosting spring metal drive set for this weekend

Nouvel Catholic Central High School will be hosting its annual spring metal drive this weekend, Friday, March 23 to Sunday, March 25. There will be a collection trailer in the football stadium parking lot, 2555 Wieneke Road, in Saginaw Township.

On-site unloading assistance will be available on Saturday, March 24. No donation is too big or too small. Free pick-up of items can be arranged.

Landlord/tenant legal issues to be discussed

The Saginaw County Bar Association, in partnership with the Public Libraries of Saginaw and Legal Services of Eastern Michigan, will hold a presentation on landlord/ tenant issues on Monday, April 2, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Butman Fish Library, 1716 Hancock St., in downtown Saginaw.

Local attorneys Lori Bommarito and Jon Walsh will be the presenters. The event is open to the public, but seating is limited. No reservations are required.

Saginaw Twp. apartment complex catches fire

The Fontaine Gardens Apartment Complex, 4889 Fontaine Blvd., caught fire at 1:55 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20. Saginaw Township Fire Chief Jim Peterson said the cause of the fire has been identified as a cooking accident.

No one was injured, but one resident lost her pet cat. The fire remains under investigation.
