Healthway Pharmacy adds new employees

SAGINAW – Healthway Pharmacy announces the addition of two new pharmacy technicians. Chryssie Schmitzer joined the Healthway team after completing her pharmacy technician associate’s degree from Baker College. She is working at the St. Charles Healthway location. Her primary responsibility is to give exceptional customer service. Cindy Campbell, C.Ph.T., has joined the team at Healthway Compounding Pharmacy in Saginaw. She is a nationally-certified compounding technician with 16 years of technician experience. Campbell recently relocated from Montana, where she worked as a technician specialist for a chain pharmacy for 11 years. Her primary duty at the pharmacy is to provide excellent customer service.

Koepke honored with Louis H. Hanisko Award

As Saginaw Bay Underwriters celebrates its 150th year of providing insurance direction to customers across the Great Lakes Bay Region, they have announced the annual recipient of the Louis E. Hanisko Service Award. This honor is presented annually to an outstanding employee whose service has enhanced the reputation of SBU. William (Bill) Koepke has been honored for his exceptional demonstration of service to the community and his customers during 2012.

Koepke has been part of the SBU team for over 15 years, providing insurance advice to businesses throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region. As a certified insurance counselor (CIC) and certified risk manager (CRM), he works in tandem with his customers to provide guidance in all of their business insurance decisions.

As an active member of his community, Koepke serves on several boards of directors including Pit & Balcony Theatre, Delta Chi Housing Corporation as treasurer, and also serves as treasurer of his church. In addition, he is past president of Saginaw Rotary Club as well as the Hospital Hospitality House.

Paramount’s Merritt now LSVT Loud Certified

Paramount Rehabilitation Services has announced that speech and language pathologist Heather Merritt is now LSVT Loud Certified. Merritt attended a two-day conference in Boulder, Colo. for the LSVT Certification.

LSVT Loud is a standardized treatment protocol that consists of 16 sessions: four consecutive days a week for four weeks. The therapist gives each patient individualized homework practice and exercises daily. LSVT Loud can help patients with Parkinson Disease and neurological conditions. Signs would be soft voice, mumbled speech, monotone speech, and hoarse voice. LSVT Loud will improve vocal loudness, speech intelligibility, increase facial expression, and improve confidence.
