New Hope Valley Assisted Living Center celebrates Independence Day with residents
SAGINAW – Residents at Saginaw Township’s New Hope Valley Assisted Living and Memory Care recently came together to celebrate Independence Day. On Wednesday, July 2, residents and their guests were treated an all-American style barbecue, featuring a burger and brat buffet, onion rings, strawberry shortcake, and other barbecue staples. The grounds were filled with streamers and flags, adding to the patriotic atmosphere.
Holiday gatherings such as these are an important element of New Hope’s philosophy, which promotes celebrating special events with friends and family. This allows residents to maintain a sense of tradition and continuity, and to commemorate happy occasions. Independence Day is a particularly meaningful holiday at New Hope Valley, as a number of the residents are U.S. veterans.
Managing Director and co-founder K. Rumi Shahzad said, “Our nation’s Independence Day has been a landmark occasion for our residents since they were children, and it is a privilege to be able to celebrate it with them and their families.”
