Gobbler Gallop Trail Run to benefit the Hawks Running Club

Anyone looking for a fun and inexpensive family event can consider participating in the eighth annual Gobbler Gallop 5K Trail Run/Walk and onemile youth run (kindergarten-eighth grade). Both events will take place at Imerman Memorial Park in Saginaw, on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 24, and wind through the beautifully wooded and groomed trails along the scenic Tittabawasee River.

All proceeds benefit the Hawks Running Club promoting the youth running movement in the Saginaw Township Area.

Race director Brian Wilson said, “This event is family friendly, at only $5 per participant keeping it affordable for the entire family to participate for the single entry fee of other races on the same day. It is amazing over the years how much this event as grown and became a family tradition for so many families before they go to their Thanksgiving Dinner.”

Race day registration will take place in the back of the park from 8 to 8:55 a.m. The one-mile youth run will start at 9 a.m. with the 5K run/walk to follow at approximately 9:20 a.m. This will be a no-frills event, but organizers will provide an accurately-measured course and finish time.
