Shields Lions host golf outing July 22

THOMAS TWP. - The Shields Lions Club is hosting its 18th annual golf outing at Swan Valley Golf Course on Saturday, July 22. There’s a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The cost is $50 per person with lunch. Various prizes include a par three hole-in-one contest for a one-year lease on a new car, sponsored by Martin Chevrolet.

The proceeds raised go to support the various local causes of the Shields Lions Club with a focus on issues related to vision.

The Lions International is the world’s largest service organization and is celebrating their 100th anniversary this summer. The Lions were challenged directly by Helen Keller to go out and be “knights of the blind in a crusade against darkness”.

The Shields Lions Club has been serving their community for more than 50 years in that cause. For more information contact Toby Webber at (989) 225-5362 or email shieldslions@charter.net.
