North Majors team plays first All Star game

The North Saginaw Township Majors team played its first All Star tournament game at Bay City Southend July 5, losing to Bay City North West 13-4.

Bay City North West took control of the game early, scoring four runs in the first inning.

In the top of the third, North Saginaw got on the board, opening the inning with two singles from Mason Cole and Trenton Hagenbach, with Cole advancing to third on the hit from Hagenbach.

Cole took home and Hagenbach made it to second on a double steal. Then Hagenbach scored on a hit from Max Yaw, to pull within two runs, 4-2.

The North Saginaw All Stars then tied up the game 4-4 in the fourth, with Cole and Nolan Reinig getting on base, then both taking home on a throwing error to tie up the game.

Bay City Northwest then went on a roll, with seven runs in the bottom of the inning and scored two more in the fifth for the 13-4 final.
