The Saginaw Northwest Kiwanis Club presented the check to Kennedy on Wednesday, Dec. 6 to be used for the Sam Merrill Memorial Pavilion Project. The Saginaw Northwest Kiwanis Club held a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Nov. 9 at the American Legion Post 439, raising $2,655. An additional $500 was donated by the Frankenmuth Softball and Baseball Association the evening of the fundraiser. The pavilion will be built in memory of Merrill, who passed away at 55 in 2016 after a 25-year career in broadcasting. The plan includes a new concession stand, bathrooms, and a covered picnic.
