Thomas Twp. board authorizes pump repair, promotes employees

By Cameron Kerkau

THOMAS TWP. – The Thomas Township Board of Trustees authorized repair work to the sanitary sewer pump from the River Road lift station to be done by Kennedy Industries in the amount of $7,235 at its latest meeting on Monday, Jan. 8. This pump has failed after having been in service since 1972.

According to the Department of Public Works, a substitute pump salvaged from a recent station rebuilding project is currently being used until the original pump can be repaired and reinstalled.

The board also approved a design and construction administration contract for the Murin Water Main Extension project with Spicer Group in the amount of $11,000. The Murin Company is planning an extension to its facility that will require the installation of a new fire hydrant.

Also at the meeting, the board promoted assessor Jill Peters and DPW laborers Jason Graebner and Tyler Branch from probationary to regular full-time employees.
