SVSU to host high school artwork exhibit

UNIVERSITY CENTER – The Art Department at Saginaw Valley State University will host a High School Invitational Monday, March 19 through Friday, April 13 in the University Art Gallery, in the Arbury Fine Arts Center. A reception will take place on Thursday, March 22 from 4 to 7 p.m.

For some, the creative process starts at a very young age but truly doesn’t come into fruition until the high school years. The Art Department at SVSU strongly supports this stage of creative development by high school students. This exhibition honors and celebrates the great creative work being done through the efforts of high school teachers and their students. The exhibition consists of works created in a variety of different mediums including photography, painting, ceramics, mixed media and drawings.

This exhibition features student artwork from the following: H. H. Dow High School, Swan Valley High School, Freeland High School, Midland High School, Tuscola Technology Center, Heritage High School, Nouvel Catholic Central High School, and Hemlock High School.

All gallery exhibitions and receptions are free and open to the public. For open gallery hours visit http://www.svsu.edu/artgallery or call (989) 964- 2291.
