Saginaw Choral Society presents Cabaret and Cabernet at Court Street Theater

SAGINAW – The stage lights in the newly renovated Court Street Theater will be lit up when 10 members of Saginaw Choral Society present a Cabaret and Cabernet fundraiser on Saturday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for bar, hospitality, and conversation with patrons.

The theme of the evening is From Stage to Screen. The audience can expect to hear selections from 17 different stage or screen shows, like “Guys and Dolls,” “Sweeney Todd,” “Hairspray,” “My Fair Lady,” “Shrek,” “La Cage Aus Folles,” “Cabaret” and more.

Concessions will be open for popcorn and candy and there is a cash beer and wine bar.

Court Street Theater owners Tom and Stephanie Braley said, “We couldn’t be happier than to host the Saginaw Choral Society for our second event in the Court Theater. Their Ah Tempo! event last month drew a full house and we hope this fantastic cabaret show will too. We are so excited to be able to showcase this community gem once again and hope you will support both the Choral Society and the theater with your attendance.”

Jeremiah Kraniak, SCS artistic director, said, “Our cast for Cabaret represents some of the finest performers in the region. SCS is blessed to have members who not only have singing experience, but also significant stage experience. Anytime you can hear songs like ‘Your Daddy’s Son’ from ‘Ragtime’ or ‘Don’t Rain On My Parade’ from ‘Funny Girl’ live, you are in for an exciting musical entertainment experience. To top it off, it is right here in your community, by people you know, in a beautifully redone gem, the Court Street Theater. We are so excited to be performing there.”

The cast consists of SCS singers Rachelle Austin, Stephanie Bale, Bradly Fergin, Betty Mayer, John Mayer, Tiara Phillips, Ric Roberts, Jim Smerdon, Nancy Stevenson, and Keven Washburn.

Tickets can be purchased in advance through the Temple Theatre box office at (989) 754-7469. The Court Street Box Office will be open on show night starting at 6:15 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30.
