The Greek Festival offers a large menu of authentic Greek foods including gyros and pastries. This year the festival will have craft beers on tap.

Live entertainment will include music from the Levendes Greek band and folk dances. Visiting dance groups are expected from Saginaw, Bloomfield Hills, and Chicago.

The hours of the festival will be Friday noon to 11 p.m., Saturday noon to 11 p.m., and Sunday noon to 5 p.m. Children 12 and under enter the festival free. Guests over 65 enter the festival free on Friday between noon and 5 p.m.

The Greek Festival contributes proceeds to local organizations and charities. In 2017 the Festival donated to Bayside Lodge Clubhouse, Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) Council, City Rescue Mission, East Side Soup Kitchen, Hidden Harvest, Mustard Seed Shelter, Nouvel Catholic Central, Restoration Community Outreach, and Underground Railroad. In 2016 the Festival and St. Demetrios parish contributed 31,500 bottles of water to Flint residents.

The Greek Festival began in 1979 as a way of sharing the parish’s faith and culture. Greek immigrants began settling in Saginaw over a century ago. St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church is now 80 years old.
