HBA recognizes Seymour Geiersbach on retirement from board of directors

Seymour Geiersbach Seymour Geiersbach The Home Builders Association of Saginaw recently thanked long-time board director Seymour Geiersbach for his many years of service to the association on his retirement from the board of directors.

Geiersbach Construction opened in 1977. Forty years, and over 300 custom homes, condos, and beautiful subdivisions, apartment complexes, churches and buildings later, Geiersbach is still going.

Geiersbach joined the HBA in 1985. From then on, he has been an integral member of the association. He initially joined the association because of its involvement with legislative and code issues, but stayed because the HBA was something he believed in.

In 1990, Geiersbach was asked to join the board of directors. With a sense of duty, and the prospect of helping the association advance and the potential to do good work for the community, he agreed.

Throughout the years, he came to believe more and more in the cause of the association. In 1999, Geiersbach became president of the HBA, and with Ron Fries and Augie Schauman, among others, built the new HBA office.

During his time on the board, Geiersbach helped to move and grow the Home and Garden Show from its humble location at the Fashion Square Mall to Saginaw Valley State University, making it bigger and better in the process. The Parade of Homes also grew with his help to become a builderfocused show that the tri-city area loves to see every year.

Geiersbach’s time on the board of directors has been fruitful and supportive, and he knows that his hard work has been very much appreciated.

As a National and State Life Director, Geiersbach will continue to be a valued member of the HBA. And even though his time on the board of directors has ended, his legacy will stand as one of pride, passion, and great accomplishments.
