Saginaw native Michael Bujold and seven of his colleagues from the United States Trustee Program received the Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service for their outstanding contributions to the Department of Justice. The group was recognized by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein at the 66th annual Attorney General’s Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. Bujold is the son of Patricia Lonsway, of Saginaw (Swan Creek Township). He is a graduate of Nouvel Catholic Central High School and University of Michigan Law School. The award was presented in recognition of the group’s commitment and

exceptional efforts, both individually and collectively, to prevent debtors from using the federal bankruptcy system to reorganize marijuana businesses and sell marijuana assets in violation of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA). Their outstanding work, legal acumen and dedication to protecting the integrity of the bankruptcy system has helped uphold the primacy of the CSA and the Bankruptcy Code over state laws that decriminalize recreational and other marijuana activities. Bujold is shown here with his mother, Patricia Lonsway.
