The board of directors of the Saginaw County Hall of Fame announces the results of this year’s election:

Clarence H. Harnden and Moxie Mulrooney – joint managers of the Saginaw County Fair who brought the fair to a new level, resulting in its being recognized in 1965 as “Michigan’s Outstanding Fair.” Under their leadership, the fair gained the reputation as the “Largest County Fair in America, East of the Rockies.”

Arthur C. Neumann – founding father of Trout Unlimited, its first national vice president and full-time executive director, nationally recognized as a conservationist.

Peters Oppermann – noted business man, a founder of Pit & Balcony, president of the Saginaw Symphony and a director of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

Jack Tucker – reporter and photographer for the Saginaw News for 66 years, noted for his deep interest in local history, widely known for his Tom McDonald Sunday articles that ran for almost two decades, totaling over 900.

These individuals will be honored with an induction ceremony at the Saginaw Club on Tuesday, Oct. 22 with cash bar at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m., and the program starting at 7 p.m. The menu features three entrees: chicken parmesan, rainbow trout, and braised tri-tips with bread pudding for dessert.
