Saginaw Twp. board of ed recognizes student artists




SAGINAW TWP. – Saginaw Township Community Schools board of education honored and recognized over 60 students throughout the district during its meeting on Monday, Feb. 24.

This included 11 White Pine Middle School students who were recipients of the White Pine STEM Award. They were: Brayden Winters, Ethan Kraatz, Faolan Hill, Nathan Schrank, Shehroze Syed, Landon Boss, Luke Deibel, Nicholas Rzeszutek, Nolan Furtaw, Troy Running and Tyler Hammis.

Sixteen students from Heritage High School also received recognition during the meeting for their artwork that was included in the Student Rotating Art Exhibit, on display at the Arrowwood Conference Center for the month of February. They were: Aaliya Boruszewski, Alexandra Devos, Alicea Gonzales-Lopez, Amita Mridha, Bryce Chesson, Carlos Lopez, Davyonna Billy, Elizabeth Whitmore, Gabrielle Culberson, Jessica Dole, Logan Jones, Mackenzie Tompkins, Mileena Duran Orozco, and Samantha Pavey.

Heritage High School students who were recipients of the Scholastic Art and Writing Award were honored by the board as well. They were: Amanda Arndt, Audrey Koester, Bailey Brasseur, Carla Chavarria, Jaden Hicks, Jean Cho, Jessica Cornford, Lena Goerzig, and Sarah Emmendorfer.

Twenty-seven students from Arrowwood Elementary, White Pine Middle School and Heritage High School who participated in the Michigan Art Education Association, MAEA, Region 11 Art Exhibit were recognized. The exhibit was hosted by the Saginaw Art Museum.
